Kalibo Ati-Atihan men’s physique winners named

A 23-year old fitness gym buff was declared  the 1st Kalibo Ati-Atihan Men’s Physique champion on January 6. 

John Ryan Cano Abello, stands 5 feet 6 inches from Jawili, Tangalan, Aklan, outclassed nine other participants from other fitness gyms to take home the P10,000 grand prize and the title. 

Abello regularly workouts in top-of-the-line Super Fit Gym in Poblacion, Kalibo, Aklan. 

Ritchie Serafica, 36, from Fitness Fuze, settled for second place for P8,000 while 27-year old Jose Manuel Tampos from Flex Fit Gym Tangalan, came in third for P5,000. 

Other participants were Rodelon Talco, Dax Espinosa, Ryan Tugna and Stephen Joseph Guevarra of Super Fit Gym and Joshua Diwa, Antonio Samboang, Jr. and Reynan Asdolo of Platinum Powerhouse Gym.


The non-winning participants received P1,000 each and certificates. All participants received an Ensayo Sando, Thermoxyn Fat Burner and a bottle of Ensayo Amino Tablets from Ensayo Gym Equipment.

The champion also got an Ensayo Leather Belt, Stainless Protein Shaker and sash. 

The judges were fitness coach and Muay Thai fitness trainer Jojo Unating; three-time Mr. Iloilo Body Building and Physique competition from 2014 to 2016 and also the reigning Mr. Philippines Body Building and Physique champion Sherwin Sy and three-time Mr. Filipino-Chinese Bodybuilding Champion and a powerlifting national record holder Nicky Tsai.

Awards presenters were Meden Ramos, Judith Chua, Anne Lukban and Shirley Ilejay. 

The Kalibo Ati-Atihan Men’s Physique competition is a sidelight event during the pageant and coronation of Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan 2017.
