PG releases P999K for Antique’s elders

The Provincial Government of Antique released the total amount of P999,000 for the senior citizens in the province of Antique with age 85 years old and above in celebration of the Elderly Week on October 18.
Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao handover the checks to the elderly-beneficiaries during the program at Robinsons Place, San Jose.
The provision of yearly social incentives for the elders is part of the governor’s  program dubbed as “Kabalaka ka Gobernadora sa Lolo kag Lola  kang probinsya,” said James Rubino Information Officer of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
A total of 346 elders from 11 towns namely Hamtic, Culasi, San Jose, Anini-y, Tibiao, Bugasong, Patnongon, San Remigio, Belison, Tobias Fornier and Sibalom  have availed of the social incentive from the Provincial Government.
Emilia delos Santos from Borocboroc , Belison was the oldest beneficiary at the aged of 101 and she was given P10,000.
The other eight centenarian also got P10,000 are from Hamtic, Tibiao, Patnongon, Sibalom, Tobias Fornier, Culasi (2) and another beneficiary from Belison.
One hundred seventy two (172) elders with aged 85-89 were given P2,000 each, 133 are with aged 90-94 and were given P3,000 and 32 are with age 95-99 who received P5,000 each.
Rubino said this is the second year of the social incentive program for the Elderly of Governor Cadiao. 
The program was also attended by Vice Governor Edgar Denosta,  SP Members Fernando Corvera and Santiago Lotilla, PSWDO Larry Petinglay, Edgar Maghari, President of the Federation of Senior Citizen in Antique , Mayor Elmer Untaran and other local officials and elders from different towns.
A Posthumous Award was also given to former SP Member Anselmo Pagunsan for having served the legislative branch of the Provincial Government.
