Sixteen young women from across the province of Aklan are competing in a preliminary Ati-Atihan pageant event on December 22. Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan candidates will perform their talent before they vie for the crown and title next month.
The talent competition has been held annually at Kalibo Pastrana Park, according to Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) chairman Albert Menez.
The candidates are Jazzine Mae Andres (Altavas), Rosebella Arbon (Ibajay), Honey Christy Bandiola (Malay), Gillian Christine Bartolome (Kalibo), Cleorodizel Baruela (Kalibo), Eirene Mae Cuare (Kalibo), Kimberly Joy Dalida (Kalibo), Rose Fuerte (Kalibo), Ma. Andrea Paula Gabay (Malay), Khadine Kaye Hontiveros (Nabas), Eleonora Valentina Laorenza (New Washington), Theadora Elizabeth Laorenza (New Washington), Harriette Panagsagan (Altavas), Camille Fate Santos (Kalibo), Janelyn Salido (Ibajay) and May Adel Ahmed Salman (New Washington).
The contestants will strut their stuff in front of a panel of judges. The Best in Talent winner will receive sash, trophy and cash prize from the festival organizer.
In Boracay Island, three candidates, namely, Salido, Andres and Bartolome were named the top 3 Best in Swimsuit. Fashion designers Lexter Badana and Ian Jorda also showcased their top-of-the-line designs during the swimsuit competition and fashion show at Boracay Hennan Regency on December 10.
Meanwhile, Gabay was chosen as Miss Ocean View corporate award on December 3 at Ocean View Resort Bar and Restaurant in New Washington, Aklan.
The 16 gorgeous contestants will have also the chance to grab the corporate, minor and major awards during the grand finale of Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan.
The pageant and coronation night will be held on January 6, 2017 at ABL Sports and Cultural Center in Kalibo, Aklan as one of the much-awaited events of the yearly Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan festival.
